What was the highlight of your season?

The obvious highlight of my season in my mind was having the opportunity to session a certain low lying area of pillows for over a month's worth of days.  The zone only lights up on big, cold snow years.

Where did you ride this year?

Whistler backcountry, Whistler, Washington, Switzerland (aanexttorock photo).  All time winter at home, couldn't leave from the relentless powder days.  Spent alot of time in familiar and unfamiliar mountains in my home range.  I made a concerted effort to tackle much of the terrain I had always looked at but had never gotten around to riding.  Spent tons of time on a particular extended wall of spines, I truly cannot get enough. Boards you used this year and for what conditions.

My everyday board is the Jones Flagship 64.  It is an everything crusher.

On deep days I was on my hovercraft 54.  This board is magic in the powder.  Pillow lines in particular are very compatible with the hovercraft because the stunted tail keeps you from getting bucked off the line as easily.  A true pleasure ride.

THen Jones 61 flagship for park kickers or when I have freestyle plans in the backcountry.

Did your board take you to a higher level at any point in the season?

My Solution did!

Why do you snowboard?

Everyone has an infinite number of choices to make through life, and every decision I have ever made up until now has tended me towards snowboarding.

What is your goal in Snowboarding?

So much to shred, so little time.

How do you train for snowboarding?

I spend half my life on my downhill bike, surfing, and working my body to it's limits.  I mentally snowboard much more than I'd care to admit, as I believe that while training is much to do with physical exertion, so too does mental strengthening play a large role in training for snowboarding.

What will you do after snowboarding?

Sail the world.

Why do you love to freeride?

I like being the boss, and I love processing lines to encompass freestyle plans combined with sluff management.

What's your dream line look like?

Wiggly, meandering fat to splitting in half spines to big droopy ultra steep landings into more giant waves and into a pile of babes.

When did your start splitboarding? Do splitboards work?  Has splitboarding changed snowboarding for you?

I have been splitting for a number of years, and it is a beautiful aspect of snowboarding.  Splitboards are a vital tool for any serious mountain-dude.  The doors that are opened from splitting are great, and terrain is opened up with relative ease.
