There’s just something about the Andes. Between the crazy trees, rock towers and craggy couloirs, the Andes are one of the most unique and breathtaking snowboarding destinations in the world. If you’ve ever dreamed of a summer shred trip to the Andes but aren’t sure how to make it happen, check out the program offered by our partner SASS Global Travel.

SASS Argentina is a full service freeride and backcountry snowboarding camp that specializes in taking riders to shred some of the best terrain in the Andes. Based in Bariloche, Argentina at the base of South America’s largest resort, Catedral Alta Patagonia, SASS offers the opportunity to live alongside a staff of professional riders + backcountry guides, shred amazing lines and experience rich Latin culture. Every morning at SASS you have the ability to choose how you want to spend your day on the mountain. Your guide/coach helps you accomplish your goals while shredding with a small group that is on the same page in terms of both skill level and desired terrain.

Jones ambassador guide Chris Coulter has been a guide at SASS for many years and has helped hundreds of riders shred dream lines. He’ll be back down in Bariloche this winter guiding groups and leading splitboard tours. SASS has a fleet of Jones splitboards available to demo daily.

"Local knowledge is everything," says Coulter. "SASS helps people with less experience get into lines they wouldn’t do on their own."

Beyond just experiencing the Andes, the SASS experience is the perfect opportunity for those looking to push themselves into the terrain they have always fantasized about. Every crew works as a group to not only explore the backcountry, but learn the skills to safely bridge the gap from resort riding to the backcountry, and beyond.

SASS offers four week-long sessions throughout the month of August. The first two sessions are all ages and the second two are adults only. Sessions can be combined to stack up the ultimate summer shred trip. SASS can also help you find the cheapest airfare options to Argentina. Get the full lowdown on the SASS Argentina program here:
