DON’T CALL ME A POW BOARD, POW BOARD

The NEW Women’s Hovercraft Split is purpose built to surf the earth and features a directional shape that truly shines in the backcountry. It’s nimble, squat outline provides the float of a much longer board, and the short running length makes it super maneuverable in the tight trees and skinning up. The blunt nose and directional rocker of the Hovercraft keep you surfin’ on top of the soft stuff, while the stiff tail keeps you stable through any unexpected crust. For added edge grip on icy skin tracks or firm descents, the Hovercraft Split features Inner/Outer Traction Tech 2.0 edges. The Women’s Hovercraft Split is also built with a FSC Engineered Veneer Topsheet and Rounded Recycled ABS Sidewalls for improved topsheet durability.

Personality

Traction Tech

Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Traction Tech is a critical feature for rockered boards. Rocker improves glide in mixed conditions, but the decreased edge contact makes it harder to really lock
into your turns and hold a solid edge. Traction Tech is crucial to offset the edge drift of rocker. — Jeremy Jones

Quick Tension Tail Clip
Built-in climbing skin tension system using pre-cut notch that eliminates the need for a traditional skin tail clip.
Progressive Sidecut
At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
Blunt Nose
How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep, is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight. — Jeremy Jones
Flip Flop Base
Producing two or more base color options minimizes p-tex waste. Order may be filled with either color. Color does not vary by size.
Sintered 7000
Durable natural base material with added carbon for speed and good wax absorbency.
Wend Natural Wax
Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.
Biax Fiberglass
A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride.
Factory Tuned
All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.
Recycled ABS Sidewalls
ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. We improve the sustainability of our snowboards by using only recycled plastic.
Oversized Recycled Edges
All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.
Karakoram STD Clip
Jones Splitboards feature premium Karakoram K-clips plus tip and tail hooks. Adjustable tension K-clips increase board torsional stiffness and offer a superior connection to simple interlocking clips.
Stainless Steel Reinforcement
Stainless steel plates are embedded into the nose and tail for improved board tip durability.
Super Sap Bio Resin
All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
FSC™ Engineered Veneer
New composite wood veneer topsheets made from 100% FSC certified wood. Wood veneer topsheets dampen ride and absorb board chatter.
FSC™ Classic Core
Full wood premium poplar core that offers fun pop, even flex and solid durability.
Gear 101
Alternative Freeride boards are designed to be ridden substantial shorter than a Directional Freeride board.
For a Hovercraft, go 4 - 8 cm shorter than your Directional Freeride board.
Choose the ideal size Alternative Freeride board using your weight and boot size (see the size chart below).

Know your board
The dimensions of a snowboard define how that board performs on snow. The dimension specs of all our models are fine tuned for specific styles of riding.
Understand how waist width, flex and sidecut and stance dimensions effect board performance to find the best board for you.
