Powder Report

…and we’re back with another edition of the Jones Team Powder Report! And what a month April was…

Canada got snow and Andrew Hardingham knew where to find it. @Hardinghama’s advice for pow seekers: "Sometimes, if you listen very carefully, the powder will tell you where it’s friends are hiding!"

It’s no secret that Alaska had epic conditions in April. Jeremy Jones (@jonessnowboards) and @RylandBell went on a HIGHER filming expedition to this zone outside of Haines.

One of the main reasons the pow stays so good in AK is because of all the glacial ice. The glaciers keep the ground temps cold which offsets the warm radiation of the high spring sun angles that would otherwise zap the pow. After a day of shredding blower on Thompson Pass, @IrisLazz paid respects to one of nature’s climate refridgerator units. Photo - @MossHalladay

Yup, @ClaudiaAvon gives AK the thumbs up. She scored fun pow lines in Valdez this April.

On the totally opposite side of the world, but equally as far north as Alaska, Miikka Hast (@miikkaphoto) rode pow lines down to the Arctic ocean in Lyngen, Norway.

Meanwhile, in the Southern Alps, Bibi Toelderer-Pekarek (@bibitp) and her main man Mitch Toelderer (@mitchtoelderer) were hiking couloirs in the Italian Dolomites and finding pow.

If you could only be in Mitch’s boots right here…tearing into a steep Dolomiti couloir.

Happy dayz in Switzerland this April. The Helvetic Backcountry crew shredded bluebird pow in Piz Bial.

Not exactly a pow shot, but @LizDaley caught a mesmerizing view of the Alps flying over Chamonix this month.

Back stateside, the California Sierra got hammered with a solid storm to start the month. @AllisonLightcap took full advantage ripping some tight tubes in Lake Tahoe. Photo- @SethLightcap

The pow didn’t last long in the Sierra but the water didn’t all go to waste. Jeremy Jones crushed an extremely wet pow line with yet another successful crossing of the Cushing pond at Squaw Valley. Photo - @SethLightcap

Once again, good ol’ Jackson Hole probably had more pow days in April than anywhere in the world. @RobKingwill aka @Avalon7 milked every drop of the soft stuff.

@RobKingwill was not alone flying through the Teton wilderness. He caught this unreal shot of a snowy owl this month.

The Wasatch in Utah got creamed just this last week. @ForrestShearer was ready and waiting for some more uphill wallowing. Photo - @Andrew Miller.

Utah likes to claim ’Best Snow On Earth’…gotta give it to em for these last few days of April. Double over head slash by @ForrestShearer on April 29th. Photo - @AndrewMiller
