Favorite Jones Boards:
My board of choice is the Carbon Solution. I’ve ridden that board on the deepest cold smoke powder days in Wyoming and in exposed, steep terrain in the Tetons, Chugach, and French Alps. The Solution is light, strong, has the ultimate edge hold and great float in deep powder. It has the same feel as my Flagship, which crushes all terrain in and around the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Where do you guide?
During the winter months, I work in the Tetons for Exum Mountain Guides and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Alpine Guides. I also work with Exum during the summer as a climbing and mountaineering guide in the Tetons, Wind River Mountains, and climbing areas in Wyoming and Idaho.
What courses will you guide this winter?
I have started some snowboard specific camps through Exum Mountain Guides and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort that I will continue to run in the Tetons. The camps are 3-4 days in length and and focus on splitboarding and snowboard mountaineering. For more info visit www.exumguides.com
What is your dream line?
I was fortunate enough to ride one of my “dream lines” on a personal trip to Chamonix. The line started on a steep exposed ramp on a hanging glacier surrounded by blue ice. Not a place you want to fall. After negotiating that, we billy goated through a cliff face to a powder filled couloir. 3000 feet of knee-deep powder couloir riding opened up to a serrac and crevasse filled glacier. We finished the run off with espresso and chocolate croissants.
