The Carbon Solution is built for powerful riders who like to throttle turns at top speed and push the limits of what’s possible in the backcountry. It is the most stable, damp and responsive splitboard in the Jones line. For 2017 we have re-designed the Carbon Solution using 2X Textreme Carbon instead of a traditional topsheet and a featherweight but burly ULTRA ISOcore that’s borrowed from World Cup race skis. A refined inner/outer edge Mellow Magne-traction profile ramps up the edging power going up or down and our new Bolt-less Bridge plus Karakoram Ultra Clips improve torsional board lock.
A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch.
My experience is that most falls in freeriding start from the nose of the board – you either go over the bars in powder, the nose gets caught under a weird crust and tosses you, or you hit a hard tranny at the contact point of the tip and get bucked. Directional Rocker eliminates most of these falls.
The Quick Tension Tail Clip is designed for 2016-17 Jones Splitboards except the Discovery Split. All Jones Splitboards (except Discovery Split) now feature a notch cut into the tail of both skis that allows the Quick Tension Tail Clip fastener to simply slide into the notch and secure the skin.
Carbon construction offers expert freeriders the ultimate high-speed confidence. By combining two full bi-directional carbon layers with carbon stringers and a tri-density wood core, Jones’ Carbon Construction delivers supreme dampening, stiffness and torsional rigidity for riders whose deft skills demand unwavering board performance at speed.
