Performance + Durability + Sustainability

Balancing the qualities of performance, durability and sustainability is one of the most difficult aspects of snowboard design. We strive to use as many sustainable materials as possible, but we trust our lives to these boards so we must value performance foremost. Durability is a critical aspect of snowboard sustainability as the longer a board lasts, the less waste that goes to the dump. This ECO-Performance design philosophy is the foundation upon which everything we make is made. We test new materials and production processes against these criteria and strive to make the most sustainable products possible without sacrificing performance or durability.

Global Organic Textile Standard

All tees and hoodies.
100% Organic cotton that has been grown with no chemicals pesticides.

Polylana

All beanies.
Polylana® is a low-impact alternative to 100% acrylic fiber with less energy, water, waste, CO2 and microfiber release. Featured on all beanies.

Repreve

All neckwarmers.
Repreve is the leading, most trusted, branded performance fiber made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles).

Oeko-Tex Standard

All tees and hoodies.
Oeko-Tex textiles and fabrics are certified free of harmful chemicals and are safe for human use.

Since 2018 - Non-toxic sidewall finishing solution replaces acetone

Used on all Jones board models.

Since 2018 - Optimized splitboarding packaging

Splitboard packaging is re-designed to reduce cardboard use and better protect boards in transit.

Jones models with full topcoat graphics printed on new Epson printers which comply with AZO certifications and meet the Oeko-Tex Safety Standard.

Solvent varnish is no longer used in production.

Reduces material use by eliminating need for a traditional topsheet.

Polylana is a low-impact alternative to 100% acrylic fiber that requires less energy, water, waste and CO2 emissions. Featured on all Jones beanies.

Since 2020 - Repreve (neckwarmers)

Jones neckwarmers are made with Repreve, a unique 100% recycled lightweight polyester. Repreve is primarly made from recycled plastic bottles and is certified to contain 80% post-consumer recycled content (plastic bottles) and 20% pre-consumer recycled polyester content (factory material scraps)

Since 2020 - GOTS certified (apparel)

Jones tees and hoodies are made with 100% Organic Cotton that has been grown with no chemical pesticide.
