Sizing guidelines

Backpacks

Jones backcountry packs are available in multiple volume sizes - 19L, 25L and 32L. Read on for info on how to choose a pack volume that best fits your riding demands.

Torso length

Jones packs are designed to fit any size rider with a 16-20 in (40-52 cm) torso length and a 26-40 in (66-100 cm) waist width. Unless you have a notably short or long torso, all Jones packs can be sized to fit you by adjusting the shoulder and waist straps. For best fit, shoulder straps should be adjusted so the hip belt lines up evenly with your hip bones.

Measure your torso length from your C7 vertebra to the top of your hip shelf using a flexible tape measure.

Note: Taller people usually have longer torsos BUT, just like foot size, torso size is not always relative to height. Some short people have long torsos.

DSCNT backpack series

DSCNT 19L

The 19L pack is the perfect size for sidecountry hits and quick backcountry tours. It will fit everything you need for a backcountry tour - avy tools, water, snacks and a layer - but you won’t have much room to spare. The 19L is a great pack size for use as an inbounds resort pack. It’s streamlined profile keeps the pack tight to your body as you crush laps and jump back on the chairlift. When it comes time to bootpack, rugged side and vertical board carry straps lock the board to your back and a stow-able helmet holder keeps you helmet secure.

DSCNT 25L

The 25L pack is the perfect mid-size pack for backcountry day tours. It offers enough volume to hold everything you need for a basic splitboard tour. The main pocket, goggle pocket and dual hip pockets give you multiple options for organizing your gear and a dedicated avy tools pocket keeps your safety system easily accessible. When it comes time to bootpack, side and vertical board carry straps plus side ski-carry straps lock the board to your back and a stow-able helmet holder keeps you helmet secure.

DSCNT 32L

The 32L is the perfect pack for big objectives when you gotta bring the full kit. It’s bigger in the right spots as a separate avy tool pocket, dual hip pockets and a back panel zipper to the main compartment provide ample storage and easy access to your gear. Despite the larger volume, the 32L pack is efficiently designed and the thermo-molded back panel and shoulder straps provide a comfortable, ergonomic fit. When it comes time to bootpack, side and vertical board carry straps plus side ski-carry straps lock the board to your back and a stow-able helmet holder keeps you helmet secure.

DSCNT 32L R.A.S. (Removable airbag system)

Jeremy Jones designed the 32L R.A.S. to be his ultimate backcountry snowboarding pack. It has all the features of the 32L pack plus the pockets that hold the Mammut R.A.S. 3.0 removable airbag system. The R.A.S. system allows you to use the pack with or without the airbag installed and utilizes compressed air instead of nitrogen so you can deploy the bag before a plane trip and then easily refill the canister at your destination (North American Canister Only).
