Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional

A directional outline with a longer nose, shorter tail and setback stance to optimize float, maneuverability and edge power. Designed for riders who prioritize performance on groomers and in the backcountry over park riding.

[Pr0file]

Freeride CamRock

Versatile freeride profile featuring camber underfoot with an extended nose rocker and shorter tail rocker. This generates powerful edge hold, precise response and confidence at speed, combined with exceptional float and maneuverability in powder.

[Tracti0n_tech]

High Traction Tech

High Traction Tech features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding). The middle bump is bigger than the outside bumps for better grip and control.

[Taper]

Medium Tapered

A sweet-spot for directional shapes that need to float in powder but still hold their own across variable snow and terrain. Nimble in deep snow, precise on piste and versatile enough to handle a full day on the mountain. Any shape with 10–15mm of taper between the nose and tail.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

High 3D Contour Base

Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

FLAGSHIP impressed me.

I have been riding 25 years starting out on a full camber Custom X to a hybrid rocker Custom Flying V to Neversummer's Triple camber Proto FR and Valhalla.

I am a big fan of Neversummer's quality and mix of playfulness and edge hold, but was starting to get real curious about directional camber boards.

Jones stood out to me with the right camber rocker combination and spoon shaping.

First run, the Flagship felt like full camber and I was worried about catching an edge. As the day went on, I really got used to the board and was flying all over the mountain. Very damp. Powerful carving yet the rocker and spoon nose didn't dig in too much.

Really impressed.

Hey Kevin. Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed first impression, really appreciate it. It’s great to hear how the Flagship felt coming from such a diverse quiver, especially with your background on full camber, hybrid and triple camber shapes. That initial “full camber” sensation is something a lot of experienced riders mention on the first runs, so it makes sense that it felt a bit unfamiliar at the start. Stoked to hear it opened up for you as the day went on, that combination of edge hold, damping and the rocker/spoon in the nose is exactly what it’s designed to balance: strong, powerful carving without feeling overly catchy or locked in. Really glad it ended up giving you that confidence to push the speed and explore the mountain. Keep shredding.

Loving this board

Loving this board. Great for blasting down groomers and shredding fresh pow. I don’t do park so this is the perfect board for me, especially when I’m cutting through trees.

Hi John! We're so glad to hear that you're enjoying our Men's Flagship! It's great to know that it's performing well on fresh powder. Thank you for choosing our brand and keep shredding! :)

FLAGSHIP: A PNW SLEDGEHAMMER

6’0 190lb riding the the Flagship 165W. Cruising Mt. Baker as home-field.

This board absolutely shreds. Even though there hasn’t been much pow lately, the board was a total sledgehammer in the early days of the season. A boom-stick that handles legendary terrain with grace and power, stable at speed, and a confidence builder (even for seasoned riders). A go-to for heavy PNW wet-cement, icy hardpack, and/or clean corduroy. Infinite stoke and five stars.

Huge aloha to Jeremy and the Jones crew—they clearly exist to help riders stay pinned and keep the environment healthy. Thanks for giving back.

Hi Marc,

We're stoked it's giving you the confidence you need at Baker, regardless of the terrain. Aloha back to you!

Awesome ride - thanks Jones team!

Just awesome!

Here's my story:

After not riding for over 15 years, it's time to get back into it. Pulled my nearly 25 year old(!!!) equipment out and quickly realized this stuff will no longer cut it...

I wanted a board that
- looked cool and fit my style
- 162+/"normal" boot width/wider stance
- all mountain(no park/rails), stable, strong, predictable, confident

Looked at a bunch of other options, but kept coming back to this and was everything I wanted and then some - completely awesome!

Paired up with mercury bindings (also awesome!)
- set exactly to the reference stance width
- duck stance ~ (+21/-15)
- back binding (right) high back adjusted for more lean

Everything worked out great and can't wait to ride this thing again!!!

Hi Davis,

Welcome back to snowboarding! A 25-year jump in technology is huge, and we are honored the Flagship is the board that got you back on the mountain. We’re stoked you’re loving the ride and the look!

Been 10 years of having this board and riding it

Been 10 years of having this board and riding it on the best powder days in Japan, Alps and Siberia

and it does make you feel like the best freerider, i have been challenged but Flagship never let me down

control, float, grip, responsiveness everything about it is perfect.

so here i am buying the same model a decade later just because why look for something else when i have my perfect board already

Hi Nikki,

That is an incredible testament to the Flagship, ten years of perfect powder days from Japan to Siberia! We are so honored that you chose the same model a decade later to keep that freeride magic alive. Have a good one :)

Powerful turns for groomers or hard pack with out

This board performs powerful turns for groomers or hard pack with out much chatter. It is very smooth in the flats and very easy to manage while skating. This weekend is forecasting 6-9” of pow. I am ready and excited to make some pow turns with my flagship. Cheers and happy trails all around on this ride.

Hi Zinsert,

We're stoked the Flagship is delivering those powerful, smooth turns for you! We hope that powder was fun! That's exactly what that board was made for.

It's always the Flagship!

I have somewhere in the area of 22 to 25 boards presently and I usually take three or four with me to the mountain. Invariably I start off with the Flagship and I never switch up. Honestly there's no reason to. This board rips in any condition and every condition. I've ripped volcanoes in South America, Hokkaido, Hakuna, and pretty much every skiable terrain in the Rockies and Sierras. It will do absolutely anything you wanted to do. 100% confidence inspiring.

My first Jones board .. Awesome !!!

I have wandered a while before to pick the flagship among the jones range. So happy with it from backcountry pow, freeriding to high speed carving and even buttering.
a Awesome beautiful board
For the next season , a mountain twin and a ultracraft .. & The stratos sounds great too .
I would love to ride all the jones board ... but who knows

Flagship

The new shape and flex is even better than on the old one. It makes for a powerful but easy to ride and super damp board that can go crazy fast with a lot of control. Even skidded turns for speed check are piece of cake which is really not excepted for a board with such drive and edge hold. It's pure magic ! The extra taper, the rocker nose and the base bevel made it really floaty for a somewhat narrow board. Really impressed !

Happy with my decision.

Firstly, I was indifferent on hitting the purchase button, mainly due to the fact the 158 wasn't available and I had to settle (for lack of a better word) on the 161. Initially took some getting used to the extra size underfoot (5'9 165lbs), but where this board shines in those technical lines. After riding this board in all conditions; Icy Canadian bombproof snow to waste deep Utah dumps, there's very little cons I can find. Sure it's not as responsive in the tight glades, but do we judge an elephant by its ability to climb a tree. Take this board into some Steep technicals lines and it will hold its edge time and time again. If it wasn't already flagship one would think it's name should be Rocketship.

Flagship

After replacing my worn out skunk ape with the new James flagship 169W...it brought the power to rip and carve with enough float to keep me up!! I only managed three days boarding before everything shut down but it was enough to seed the excitement for boarding next year!!! Might have to look into some Jones bindings too!! Plus it makes Great Wall art during the off season! Haha
