The next-generation two-strap snowboard binding
FASE® Fast Entry Snowboard Binding Guide
The FASE Fast Entry System is a high-performance two-strap snowboard binding system that delivers fast, step-in and rear-entry style convenience. Trusted by Jeremy Jones and Victor de Le Rue on every lap, the FASE system enhances the locked-in, responsive ride of a true two-strap binding while preserving its performance, comfort and full compatibility with all snowboard boots. This guide explains how the system works, how to step in and out smoothly in all conditions, and how to maximize performance with setup tips and rider-tested advice.
What are Fast Entry snowboard bindings?
Snowboard bindings have traditionally fallen into two categories: proven two-strap designs focused on pure performance, and quick-entry concepts that include step-in and rear-entry styles. These options offer speed, but often come with compromises in weight, board feel or compatibility.
FASE® is built to bridge that gap.
By rethinking only what needed to change, the Fast Entry System delivers a faster and cleaner way to step in and out without altering the trusted feel of a true two-strap binding. No added complexity. No added bulk. Just a more streamlined experience in every condition.
Developed over years of prototypes and refined with rider feedback from Jeremy Jones, Victor de Le Rue, Marissa Krawczak and more, FASE® brings high-performance control and fast entry convenience together in a way that feels completely natural.
Key advantages of the FASE System
Effortless fast entry and exit
Enhanced locked-in feel
True two-strap performance
Instant on-the-fly adjustments
Trusted by riders in every terrain and conditions
Mountain-proof durability with lifetime warranty
Minimal added weight and zero added bulk
Compatible with all snowboard boots
These advantages create a fast entry snowboard binding system that keeps the feel of a traditional two-strap design. You get the same board response and control with quicker step-in transitions, easier exit and full boot compatibility.
How the FASE Fast Entry System Works
FASE builds on the two-strap binding by adding a streamlined fast entry system that works in all conditions. The system creates a smooth step-in motion without changing how your bindings ride. Three components work together to make entry and exit faster and more intuitive.
The AutoBack
The AutoBack
The AutoBack is the key to the FASE Fast Entry System. It allows for hands-free entry by automatically closing as your boot steps into the binding and opening when you lift your heel to exit. This intuitive mechanism creates a smooth step-in style motion while keeping the natural feel of a two-strap binding. The AutoBack also folds flat for skating, chairlifts and storage.
The FastStrap
The FastStrap
The FastStrap is an innovative long ankle ladder that stays connected for ultra-fast, one-handed strapping. The classic ratchet lets you fine tune ankle strap tension, while the anchored ladder works together with the AutoBack’s automatic closure to make entry faster than a traditional two-strap binding. It keeps the workflow simple and consistent in all conditions.
The Locked-In Toe Strap
The Locked-In Toe Strap
The Locked-In Toe Strap is designed to stay in place and complement the Fast Entry System. Simply set the tension and ride. The LSR 2.0 buckle and tri-toothed ladder allow you to set it and forget it, or make quick on-the-fly adjustments as needed. Its consistent position helps support the smooth step-in motion while maintaining the secure feel of a true two-strap binding.

How to step in and out of FASE Fast Entry Bindings
How do I step in?
Because FASE® bindings share most of a classic two-strap design, getting in and out will feel natural, only now you have more options at your disposal. Of course, this still includes the way you’ve been doing it for years: by fully unsfastening the straps and placing your foot in the binding, either standing up or seated.
Open mode
When the AutoBack is angled back with the hitch engaged on the pedal and the FastStrap fully open, the binding is ready for entry.
Hint: If snow accumulates, make sure to remove snow from your binding before getting in.
1.
Insert your boot and catch the toe strap. (The AutoBack closes automatically as the Locked-In Toe Strap stays in place.)
Hint: For easy one-handed fastening, rest your thumb on the buckle, pinky finger on the ladder strap, and pinch together. The buckle will track straight into the ladder.
2.
Buckle down only the FastStrap (ankle strap). (Since the ankle ladder is already engaged, you only need one hand to complete!)
How do I step out?
Ride mode
With the AutoBack closed around your boot, and the FastStrap securely buckled you’re ready to charge in any terrain or snow condition.
1.
Simply open the FastStrap (ankle strap) until it stops.

2.
Bend your knee, lift your heel, and exit completely.

Hint: Think of the motion like how you’d get out of your shoes, as you bend your knee and lift your heel, the foot will naturally slide out.
Tips and adivce
First ride of the season
The Locked-In Toe Strap is built to stay in place. Before your first ride, open it wide, slide your boot in, set the right tension, and leave it as is for the season.
Lifts and storage
Kick the AutoBack forward to fold it flat for loading chairlifts, skating or storage.

The FastStrap
In situations where you need to remove the FastStrap fully, simply use a little more force when unfastening the ratchet, and it will slide over the stopper and come unfastened.
Steep strapping in
For strapping in on a slope, a bit of tactics goes a long way. Cut a small platform into the snow with your heel edge to balance on, while strapping in facing downhill.

Steep unstrapping
For unstrapping on a slope, it’s easier to face uphill, balancing on your toe edge. That way, your leg follows a more natural path when stepping out.

Challenging terrain
For more challenging terrain and conditions (think deep powder, steep or icy slopes, and exposed spots in the backcountry), the old-fashioned way may still be your preferred approach. It’s always possible to fully unstrap both bindings and place your boot in the binding without utilising the Fast Entry System.
Quick tip: Remember, both the Locked-In toe straps and FastStrap ankle straps can open fully - especially useful if you ever find yourself in a tight spot and need to unfasten completely.
How the FASE System compares to
Step-In & traditional two-strap bindings
FASE vs step-in style bindings?
FASE delivers fast entry convenience similar to step-in or rear-entry style bindings, but the system is built entirely around the trusted feel of a traditional two-strap snowboard binding. The system is extremely minimal at just 40 g, keeping the binding the same weight, look and volume as a traditional model while enhancing the locked-in, responsive ride riders expect.
FASE preserves the performance, comfort and board feel of two-strap bindings, with a smoother, quicker entry motion that works in all conditions. The only difference compared to fully automatic systems is that FASE is semi-automatic: you still close the FastStrap, which also gives you better micro-adjustments every lap.
FASE vs traditional two-strap bindings
The FASE Fast Entry System is built seamlessly around the traditional two-strap snowboard binding to keep all the advantages riders trust. Traditional two-strap bindings offer proven performance, adjustability, feel and comfort in every condition, but the main drawback has always been the time and hassle of strapping in. FASE solves this by integrating a minimal 40 g Fast Entry system into the binding without changing its weight, volume or riding characteristics.
FASE keeps the same secure fit, board feel, and all-conditions performance of a traditional two-strap binding. The only difference is the entry workflow. The AutoBack and FastStrap create a smooth step-in style motion that reduces time spent strapping in and maintains your flow across every run.
Kick the AutoBack forward to fold it flat for loading chairlifts, skating or storage.
Who is the FASE Fast Entry System for?
The FASE Fast Entry System is built for riders who want fast, step-in style convenience without giving up the precision and board feel of a true two-strap binding. It works for beginners through experts, from all-mountain cruising to steep freeriding, deep powder, park laps, and everything in between. Fully compatible with every snowboard boot and board setup, the system fits any riding style and any riding level.
Finding your flow with FASE
Once you have the motions dialed, the FASE Fast Entry System starts to feel natural and you can settle into a new rhythm on the mountain. FASE bindings are not just about saving time. They help remove the stop-start routine of strapping in so you can ride with more flow.
Ride off the chairlift, strap your back foot in, and drop into your run without breaking momentum. Skate across flats or cat tracks without stopping to tighten loose straps. Load lifts without fuss. When you are carrying gear like a camera or ice axe, the FastStrap makes it easier to strap in with one free hand.
The benefit is more than seconds saved. It is the smoother transition between getting ready and actually riding.
Quick Tip: When strapping in on the move, try to keep your eyeline fixed ahead of you to remain balanced and continue tracking on your line.
How FASE performs in all terrain
The strength of two-strap bindings has always been their versatility and range. The Jones binding collection is built to deliver the best possible experience for every rider type, from surf-inspired turns to steep freeride lines. FASE does not change that foundation. It builds on it.
Wherever you mount them and however you choose to set them up, your Jones FASE bindings deliver the same trusted performance across all terrain and conditions, now with the added benefit of a fast entry system that keeps your momentum moving forward.
