Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional

A directional outline with a longer nose, shorter tail and setback stance to optimize float, maneuverability and edge power. Designed for riders who prioritize performance on groomers and in the backcountry over park riding.

[Pr0file]

Freeride CamRock

Versatile freeride profile featuring camber underfoot with an extended nose rocker and shorter tail rocker. This generates powerful edge hold, precise response and confidence at speed, combined with exceptional float and maneuverability in powder.

[Tracti0n_tech]

High Traction Tech

High Traction Tech features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding). The middle bump is bigger than the outside bumps for better grip and control.

[Taper]

Medium Tapered

A sweet-spot for directional shapes that need to float in powder but still hold their own across variable snow and terrain. Nimble in deep snow, precise on piste and versatile enough to handle a full day on the mountain. Any shape with 10–15mm of taper between the nose and tail.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

High 3D Contour Base

Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

My go to for all conditions

My go to for all conditions. I’ve tried the Solution and the Deamweaver split boards, both of which I loved but once I stepped onto the Stratos everything changed. This board is so amazing in all conditions. It floats amazingly on pow and still has that maneuverability for even the most treacherous or ride outs.

Hey Sandy,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It’s awesome to hear how much you love the Stratos and that it performs so well in all conditions. We’re glad it’s become your go-to board for everything from pow to tricky terrain!

All Mountain Ripper

This board is my trusty steed in the backcountry. Works so well in all conditions and is my favorite board in the Jones line up. 161w is my board of choice. Whether that is deep pow, spring time corn, or variable winter hard pack. Cannot express how much I love this board.

The softer flex, tight sidecut and shorter

The softer flex, tight sidecut and shorter tail of the Stratos split make for excellent maneuverability in tight terrain. Great for when you want a surfy feel underfoot without compromising stability at high speeds. It also pairs well with hardboots! love love love this board for all kinds of terrain.

I was a Solution lifer until til I tried this

I was a Solution lifer until I tried this split board. This is a bit more playful and with a bit more flex and different shape , it's incredible for powder days. I highly recommend this split board for powder and corn shredding. Still handles really well in variable conditions

So Smooth I Ride it Inbounds!

I need to get this off my chest in an otherwise stellar review: like two others commented, my board was misprinted (its a 2024-25) and the lines do not match up. Not a big deal, but Jones Snowboarding, please fire your QC person if you haven't done so already.
However, this board is wonderful. People say "it rides like a hard board" and up to now I thought that was BS, but this really does ride like a hard board. In fact, on powder days, I ride it in bounds because it floats so well.
Excellent flotation, nimble enough for tight trees, and carves pretty decently for a splitboard. I have a 159 and I'm comparing it to my 157 TRice Pro hard board, and its sort of like a big highway-cruising BMW with a huge engine compared to the TRice Pro Maserati, but I love the float and its just super fun to ride. Handles the chop super-well.
Has good edge-hold in the uptrack. All in all, a superb board that I highly recommend.

Hi there. Thanks so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review we’re really glad to hear how much you’re enjoying the board’s float, stability and overall ride, especially in those inbounds powder days!

We’re sorry to hear about the misprint on your board and we appreciate you pointing that out. That’s definitely not up to our usual quality standards and we’ll make sure this feedback is passed along to the team.

That said, it’s awesome to hear that the performance is delivering where it counts from handling chop to carving. Thanks again for the recommendation and for riding with us! Cheers.

The holy grail of splitboards!

The Stratos series might be my favorite board of all time? It is my absolute fav split and solid that I have ever owned. It is an amazing mix of playful, poppy and charger. I feel like it is my go to board if I want to drop pillows, or charge steep chutes. It is also so fun the spin on or be more playful. I have never had a more receptive board.

All condition board!

I love this snowboard for all conditions! I live in Jackson Hole and often our splitboard runs are 4000’ so the conditions can really vary in that much elevation difference. I can depend on this board for any weird snow or blower good snow I come across. The shorter sidecut allows for quick turns when needed and the torsional stiffness allows me to hold a big fast turn when I want to too! I am 5’8” 165lbs, I ride the 156 but I am a really aggressive rider, for more relaxed cruiser rider of my size you could get away with the 152 and have a little lighter weight for the walk!

Lovely board to ride

I’m 62kg, 164cm tall and have US mens size 7 feet.
The 149 women’s Splitboard rides well and it loves to turn.
The Splitboard is easy to assemble into ride mode and also transition into split mode.
The one disappointing thing are the Jones NOMAD Pro A skins. I bought them as they are meant to fit the 149cm Stratos. However, the skins are not wide enough and there is a bit of the base exposed ie the edge of the skins do’t stretch from edge to edge.

Hi Jones, not a review because I would love to get one but in 164W.
Can you plan on adding this size to the splitboard line ? pretty pleaaaaase :)

Love it

I Love it.
It‘s exactly what I was looking, still able to do big turns in open terrain but is still playful when the terrain allows it. Feels light and easy to walk.
Used to dislike riding groomers with the splitboard but this board feels pretty stable if you wants end up in a resort.
I‘m 162cm about 57kg and ride the 149cm

I switched from the Frontier split to the Stratos split. It's a game changer!! The board rode with so much power but maintained an agile, poppy feel. I have never enjoyed riding split boards due to the lack of pop and movability. The board is only slightly heavier than my normal resort board. I look forward to getting in the BC with it but I'm excited to ride it again in the resort.

Jones Stratos Split

Literally just had my local shop order me this split here in Nelson BC. Kept in plastic until I got home and noticed the top sheet lifting between planks in middle of board, no binding has been mounted and stickers still on board. Stripes on graphics don’t even line up not that is has anything to do with its performance, but my wife noticed it right away. Seems like a blem. Pretty dissatisfied to say the least. And another friend experienced the same thing with the Statos.

Hi Shawn, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about your board. This sounds like it should be an easy fix with our warranty process. Just take it back to the shop you got it from and we should be able to send them a new one for you to switch it out with.

Cheers!

not every day is bottomless, but if is you're covered!

this is the best all round split I've been on. I get about 100 days a year with about 60% hiking. This board floats outstanding for its size and shape when bindings are slammed back, but more importantly its great when things get a bit more technical - I live in the PNW and we get all kinds of snow on every tour. The Stratos has you covered when you hit surpr-ICE or rock hard windbuff - it honest do anything wacky like trying to stand you up in the middle of a turn. the stiffness and width work great together. But more importantly, it rides like a solid. I know lots of companies say this all the time, and I've never felt this. But on the Stratos, it really does ride like a solid. Very impressed. I'm 5'8 160 riding the 156
