Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional

A directional outline with a longer nose, shorter tail and setback stance to optimize float, maneuverability and edge power. Designed for riders who prioritize performance on groomers and in the backcountry over park riding.

[Taper]

Low Tapered

A subtle taper that aids directional performance but keeps the ride feeling balanced and dynamic on piste and resort terrain. Popular with riders who like to carve the resort or push freestyle in the backcountry, without giving up versatility on the powder days. Any shape with a taper of less than 10mm between the nose and tail.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

Medium 3D Contour Base

3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-4mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

Love this little deck! I founde it so difficult to locate a board for myself because I am only 5 foot and 3/4 of an inch at about 110 pounds. This board felt fantastic for the tour up and the ride down. Lightweight but still snappy and stiff even do divr int some deep turns. I also have the K2 Isolator but the Jones Youth Solution is much more playful and less width for non pow or spring days. Highly recommend for height challenged folks like myself! Thank you Jeremy for making this board and creating some inclusion for the world of splitboarding 🤙🏼

Love it

Lightweight, playful, and everything a Jones board should be. Thanks for the quick shipping so that I didn't have to froth for too long.

35 year old lady here, at a whopping 5'3" & 110 lbs. Youth boards aren't just for youths, kids.

Great!!

Amazing board, flies through ice rock snow in all conditions! Riding is nice on and off piste. Stable and high quality board. Board clips are easy to fasten and solid. Highly recommended for smaller adults to younger riders!

Fantastic Splitboard!

I'm a 5'0 female and this board is perfect. Most companies really skimp on the quality of 'kids' boards but Jones (thankfully) didn't do that here. I have the board setup with Spark bindings. You will have to get cut-to-side skins as they don't make them this small (yet). Overall I was stoked to be able to build a professional split set up that was my size.

What's even better then just having a splitboard that fits me is how well this board preforms. I had demoed the Jones 147" womens board and it was very stiff and hard to control. The youth solution is flexible enough that it feels like my normal board, but with enough pop that it turns on a dime! I mean really, fantastic response in the woods and in powder. It's also considerably lighter then most other splitboards.

Thank you Jones for making a high quality splitboard for everyone!!

Game Changer

I have been riding a Dream Catcher, which I thought was a great board. Then I bought a Mind Expander. It lives up to its name! Incredibly fun, surfy, playful board. Have only ridden it in spring conditions. Can't wait to ride it in some deep powder next season.

Stance option

Hi! I would love to be able to give this splitboard a 5 star. I have been trying to love this board and also love splitboarding. I spent a lot of my time researching a small splitboard that will fit me. The only way was to go with a kids splitboard. I'm a 5' women and I weigh about 100pds. I'm really desapointed that the smallest stance I can have is 19.5...... quite huge for the smallest option. This also gives me zero room to set my stance back on my board. I noticed while doing the board test for sbc two years in a row that it is a common mistake in the women snowboard industry. It has always seemed rediculus to me that the industry hasnt figured this out yet. I'm not the only one out there this small. I work in a japonese restaurant in whistler bc and im taller then most staff.
Thanks

Versatility has a name - Jones Discovery Splitboard

I've been on the Jones Discovery Split the third season now and am still loving it. It's the only split in such a short length - that makes it pretty loveable for me already (small rider of 1,50 m).
It's light enough to make it fun in the ascent but also has many strengths on the way down. Let it be powder, crusted snow or slush - the Discovery is there to discover (obvious hey...) and to enjoy every single ride.
Highly recommend it to every short rider looking for a good time.

Edges on in-&outside of every "ski" would be awesome though ;)

Ok starter board

I am sure this board is good but its hard to rave about it when the hovercraft is just far superior in every way! For a kids split board though you cant go wrong with the discovery split!
