Features & construction

Fusion Carbon

Ultralight Jones exclusive tip-to-tail carbon fiber and fiberglass construction that’s engineered to reduce weight without sacrificing performance and response.

Fusion core

High tech wood core crafted from select Paulownia with pockets of Poplar along the sidecut for added edge durability. Designed for Jones Ultralight models, it’s our lightest core ever and offers a perfect strength-to-weight ratio.

Koroyd

Developed from aerospace technology, award-winning Koroyd synthetic core material is the lightest core dampening material we’ve ever tested. It absorbs vibrations and reduces tip swing weight, enabling quicker, smoother turns.

Ultra Base

Jones exclusive sintered base material with carbon additives for industry leading speed and wax absorption. Infused with multiple wax types for supreme glide in warm, wet and variable snow. Made in Austria

Ultralight Carbon Construction

Ultralight Carbon is a state-of-the-art construction that minimizes weight without compromising performance. Featuring an ultra-fast base, tip-to-tail carbon fiber and Triax fiberglass, plus Koroyd in the wood core, it delivers exceptional durability and response for its weight.

Ultralight Eco Topsheet

Ultralight version of our castor bean sourced, bio-plastic topsheet that’s engineered to be extremely durable and scratch resistant while minimizing environmental impact.

Bio Resin

A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon that reduces CO₂ emissions by 33% compared to conventional petroleum-based epoxy. Sourced from plant-based industrial by-products, its unmatched bonding properties deliver industry leading durability and performance.

Recycled ABS

Recycled ABS sidewalls with a rounded finish that are engineered to enhance durability by reducing topsheet chipping and impact damage.

Recycled edges

Bombproof steel edges made from recycled German steel, engineered for maximum strength and long-lasting durability.

Very nice ride but not 5.7lbs

I bought this 159cm board in November 2023 to lighten up as much as possible (vs my Jones Solution 161) for a backcountry touring trip to Hokkaido in January. When I got it home I weighed it on my fish scale and it weighs 6.7lbs vs my 161cm 7.5lb Jones Solution splitboard. 6.7lbs is 17% above the advertised weight of 5.7lbs, outside of the 15% manufacturing tolerance. I griped to Jones about this but it did not seem important to them. I bought a new pair of Jones skins, took it to Japan and I was not disappointed. It climbed and rode very well through the Japow. I just wish it really lived up to the advertised weight so I wan't sucking so much wind on the climbing. Hopefully that design will emerge someday....

Ultra Stratos Split

This is a great split for those that are looking for something ultra light that still has a freestyle soul. I've never owned a carbon deck because of the added stiffness that generally comes with it. The flex on the ultra split is really in-line with with the standard stratos. I was previously on an explorer split and it feels similar in the nose and slightly stiffer in the tail. There is definitely some nose chatter at speed with the ultra but the construction is well done and it never seems to make its way underfoot so it still feels stable at speed in hard/mixed conditions. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars from me is the all black top sheet ends up with crazy amounts of stuck snow with even the slightest bit of sun, even in when the temps are in the single digits if its sunny there will be a solid mass of stuck snow. The explorer wasn't great in this regard either but this is a $$$$ ultralight deck and it seems to defeat the purpose, please make it with a light color top-sheet!

Big Mission splitboard

Ive used it in my last big Mission to the central andes and i got in love with it. The conditions were icy, hard pow and corn conditions. We hiked alot in hard snow and the board hollas perfect. I never Felt insecure splitboarding in steep conditions. For the ride down it keeps the feeling of a surfy board and it holds the edge really well. Really lightweight demon. Its my board of Choice for big missions.
