Mind Expander Splitboard

I’ve had a lot of fun on this split from tree wiggles to big lines at high speeds. Floats in powder and hold edge on firm. Has a nice medium flex.

All time favourite shred weapon. This thing charges in deep pow, and you feel like you can ride anything when it's under your feet. Effortless floatation, and the turns feel like nothing you've ever felt before!

Aptly named. Synonymous for bliss, slay, float, art,and the best split in the lineup. This board changed the way I ride and helped me go from 25 mph through the trees to 60mph with improved safety. You can put this board anywhere if you size it right and you can ride this board in the deepest conditions while sitting in the backseat with a cortado in hand....it's the 1 board that must be in your quiver or you are blowing it.

If you know, you know! Jones is simply the best snowboard line. Personally, this is my tree killer but its versatile and fantastic on so many levels. Its so good I own the split and regular versions of this board. Imagine having over 20 premium snowboards to choose from and always choosing your Jones. Once you own one you will understand and never look back.

Riding this board (especially in soft powder) makes me feel like a mustang running through the tall grass, or a porpoise on a glassy wave, or even a slab of butter on a pile of hot flapjacks. If you like riding powder, this board will make your heart sing.

Never before, I had such an effortless ride in varying conditions.
Never before I could head into a slope with fresh powder that steep and still could have my turns without to work hard.
After reaching the bottom i was so stoked, I was thinking about hiking up the 900m altitude once more.
My legs said NOOOO :)
After a short ride with my car, I decided to test the ski resort ability of the board and took a slope hike up to a small peak to have some steep pow combined with a little narrow tree run and a resort slope with bad spring conditions, which we have here in southern Germany by now.
And again, I could not be more satisfied with the handling of the board. Pow is not the question, but my weakness, the tree run, was so easy and confidence boosting, because it is so easy to make the board turn and direct it exactly where you want it to go.
And the slope? well that for sure is not what it is made for, but still it was predictable and safe to handle and in the softer parts it was even possible to carve.

So once more Thanks a thousand times for creating this board!

For those who are in numbers: My height is 1,78 m. My weight is 76kg naked. I ride the mind expander in 154 with union expedition bindings.

Love this board on a deep day. Such a fun, surfy feel, get this thing up to speed and it lays down a serious pow arc. This board has plenty of float so you can ride it a bit shorter than your usual size and you float and turn like a champ in the trees. Or, go with your usual size and you’ve got the perfect board for high speed surfing on the deepest days. Such a blast!

Amazing board for pow conditions. The long rocker gives a nice and smooth ride.

Australia snow pack is tough, you start your day on ice, which is quickly softened and will end in very soft slush. The mind expander charges on in though rough terrain conditions and is effortless to ride. I found the Mind Expander great for snappy tight turns and still holds a lovely carve at speed.

A dream in powder the mind-expander split is an effortless ride in very deep snow.
Bought crampons to aid on the up hill but never had to use them. Good skins and decent technique sufficed on fairly steep skin tracks.
The only complaint would be that even as long and forgiving the nose was when riding down in uphill mode the half’s would tend to punch through on gully crossings and deeper v-type troughs while climbing up and down.
Didn’t go out on much freeze-thaw steeps so haven’t really experienced the grip the board provides on firmer steep terrain.

The mind expander split is hands down the most fun board I have ever ridden. Growing up surfing, it is the closest I've come to recreating that feeling on snow. Insanely enjoyable, crazy float, and super easy to maneuver in tight spots. I'm having a hard time riding anything else...

Really nice splitboard! Floats A1, the surf feeling is just insane! Really good board quality along with the quick tension clips, really making it worth it.

All ready that the name was for me a mind Expander, suits perfection. 30 years of riding , down seize on split board I never thought it réact so wel and turns like on a wave. Just waiting for my next back country sessions.

Rides powder like a demon and is very playful for a split. There is however one fatal flaw that needs mentioning, because of the straight rise of the nose and no lip at the tip the board tends to nosedive on any dips or wups in the trail, this inevitably sends you into a cartwheel. The tip requires a turn up at the very end to stop the nose from digging into the snow. Overall a great board but I’ll be changing split due to this flaw.

Love my Jones Mind Expander Split 154 . This thing is crazy fun on any run you take it on . Floats amazing on powder days and can go anywhere you point your front foot . This thing is a must in my quiver :call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:.

I habe a Mind Expander and I feeling like surfing with my shortboard, nice and easy turns and good for different terrain. I recommend it

This board is absolutely perfect for the small mountains below 1000 meters with many obstacles like trees, rocks etc. It can provide steep surfy turns, it feels like floating on the waves. Mind expander also can give a speed on an open terrain, so you can feel yourself a bullet))
Unfortunately I broke one piece of the board on the descending - met a tree. However it is still ok to use here on Sakhalin:)

On the way up:
There are certainly boards that perform better on the way up. While great on the way down, on the way up the surf rocker, relatively soft flex and wide nose make side-hilling and breaking trail a bit tiring. However, on the terrain I'd use the Mind Expander for (relatively mellow terrain, soft snow) these things don't matter that much . For steeper terrain with more varied conditions (like icy patches) something like the Solution works a lot better.

On the way down:
What a fun board - great float and smooth ride in deep pow but also loads of fun in cruddy or heavier snow thanks to the quick and snappy turning. It's a super playful board that invites you to embrace bumps, wind lips etc. as opportunities to get another small turn/slash in. Not the best board for steep and icy terrain but that's not what it was built for anyway. The traction tech does help a lot on icy terrain though.

First off, if I was to give a rating of this board based strictly on the ride down, I'd give 8 out of 5 stars. One of the most fun boards I have ridden. Period. And typically I hate rockered boards that have zero camber between the feet.

Where this board lacks in on the skin up. On fresh days with little or no crust under the new snow it's fine. Worn in, icy, packed out, sun effected or dust on crust skin tracks it sucks. There's so little board in contact with the surface that it slips constantly. I average 3000' days in the Wasatch and the most tiring aspect of this board is slippery skin tracks and hard packed side hilling. I almost never skip with a boar that has camber under the touring pins. I will be putting a second split back into my quiver for this reason. I was really hoping this would be a board for everything. If it had camber like the ultra mind expander it would be.
