Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional Twin

Twin-inspired shape with subtle directional tuning. A slightly longer nose improves float and handling in variable terrain when riding forwards, without limiting its switch performance. The go-to shape for all-mountain riders who want the best of both worlds.

[Pr0file]

CamRock

Versatile all-mountain profile featuring camber between the bindings with equal amounts of rocker in the nose and tail. Camber delivers pop and precise edge control, while the rocker adds forgiveness, smoother turn initiation and better float in soft snow.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

High 3D Contour Base

Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

Love it!

Surf is up. I did about ten thousand bottom turns on this board. It will go.

Also, appreciate the Jones factory tuning. Waxed to haul ass across the flats. Detuned to keep me from catching an edge.

The FAZE bindings are quick in and out. The new new entry to beat my friends to the runs.

Hi Jeffrey!
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are thrilled to hear that it has helped you catch some epic waves. We take great pride in our Jones factory tuning and are happy to hear that it has enhanced your riding experience. Love my Mountain twin!

First Jones board for me but is amazing. It completely lived up to the hype. Carved beautifully, great fun popping jumps and rode really well in powder.
If you want an all Mountain board This really is the nuts!

My favorite snowboard

This is probably the best board I have ever ridden! Jones does such a good job with the camrock profile and 3d shaping to make the ride feel effortless and floaty. I also enjoy it in the park as I am never worried about catching an edge.

Hi Cahal! We're thrilled to hear you're loving the Mind Expander Twin Snowboard. Thanks for sharing your experience and happy riding!Wow, best board you've ever ridden, that's high praise and we'll take it! The camrock profile and 3D base shaping are really the secret sauce there, that effortless, floaty feel is exactly what we were going for, whether you're charging groomers or cruising off-piste.

And the park comment is something we love hearing too. That forgiving edge design gives riders the confidence to hit features without second-guessing themselves. Ride it everywhere, it can handle it! Keep shredding.

Fricken awesome

Great board, hugs the mountain. Can maintain hard turns without it squirreling out. Haven’t gotten a big powder day since I bought it. Recommended size for my height and weight was 158-161, I went with 162 and kinda wish I went bigger. Love the decal on bottom and really love the mat finish on top of the board. Super great profile that aligns with my riding style.

Hi Mak! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We're thrilled to hear that you're loving your board and that it's been performing well. Thanks again for your review and keep shredding! :)

Thanks

Fun board, just a bit too stiff for my personal feel. Still in love with an old Mountain Twin which I‘m comparing all new ones to. Best Design though I‘ve come across for years. Thanks Jones Team!

Hey Kolja,
Appreciate the honest feedback! The Mountain Twin is a legend – totally get the comparison.
Stoked you're digging the design. Thanks for riding Jones!

Mind expanded!

As a lifelong rider/ surfer (5’10 170lb) who fell in love with the storm chaser (152)and mind expander (158), it seamed to be a no brainer to try the mind expander twin as my daily driver. This board has exceeded my expectations all around, warranting this review. The flow and drive translates seamlessly from groomers to pristine powder and despite the reviews of some, handles the roughest chunder flawlessly. I’ve been pushing this board harder in the park truly shining light on its quiver killer qualities. Perfect flex to flow on rails and hammer jibs. Stable enough to bomb and hit transition with confidence and the magic amount of pop to spring load energy from the tail allowing smooth lift for styling grabs and rotations. Although it’s a directional twin, it lands and rides switch as well as I would ever need. Now to the powder conversation. With a few feet of light dreamy snow. I on instinct started with the storm chaser with a full belly I figured I’d do a side by side comparison of the ME (158) in which we all know goes insane in those conditions to the MET (154). This is where as a rider looking at the mountain as a wave, i became aware of its true potential as the blade of all blades. As with the other Christenson collab surf series line up, slashed and ripped creative playful lines putting a smile on the face and filling the void of missing tubes and a clean face to lay into somewhere in the world. Especially for these who do both disciplines, look no further. IMO a better all around freestyle board that the mountain twin and more solid in the park than the tweaker, especially in the air (may be the surfer in me). To wrap it up, it’s a good time to be alive and grateful Chris and Jeremy linked up to spread some magic and stoke to the world!

Hi Connor,

We love hearing how the Mind Expander Twin has become your 'quiver killer,'. It sounds like your surf background is a perfect match for that board's flow.

Best board I’ve ever had

This is a one board quiver, it rips groomers, jumps and powder. Ive ridden everything from icy parks to waist deep powder on this board. It’s the perfect mid flex and if you put the bindings back it rides like a true pow board. But anything under knee deep I leave it set up as a true twin and it rides great.

Hi Matt,

A 'one board quiver' is exactly what we aimed for with the Mind Expander Twin! It’s awesome to hear it’s handling everything from icy parks to waist-deep powder for you.

Best twin powder board!

Super floaty in deep powder, even riding a short size! Really playful and ideal for riding both directions in deep snow! It is also surprisingly efficient in variable conditions and on firm snow.

Hi Pica,

We're so glad to hear that you're loving the Mind Expander Twin Snowboard! It's definitely one of our top picks for riding in powder. We agree, the float and playfulness of this board is unbeatable. We're also happy to hear that it performs well in variable conditions and on firm snow. Thanks for the positive feedback and happy riding!

Mind Expander Twin 162

I had a chance to ride this board for five days at Big Sky, and then three days in CO mountains. I found the deck to be an absolute blast in powder. It lets you float through powder extremely well with the surf tech. Even towards the final laps on powder days I was able to blast over bigger piles of powder and be in total control.
Turn initiation I found to be less responsive than my Aviator 2. 0, and it isn’t the best carving board. I experienced a good amount of chatter on harder packed snow and it was a bit sloppy in slush.
The board leans to the softer side of medium which is great for butters and tricks at slower speeds. I found the precision at higher speeds to be lacking. I carve at speeds of about 40-60mph and I would much rather be on my Camber board for that.
Overall this is a great board and can be fun all over the mountain. I will be leaning to this board for powder days, and am overall very glad I added this deck to my quiver!

Mind expander twin !!

Got this board for the wife. She already has a OG mind expander. Got her the twin for park/ resort cruiser days. She loves it ! I can tell profile helps her switch riding, making switch carving easier. Going in switch or landing switch outta features is much smoother as well. But , board can still go find left overs in trees or carve groomers like OG board. Great deck, thanks Jones

So much fun!

My 2nd Jones board and my 2nd win! This thing feels super good underfoot and think its going to go well on the groomers as we head into spring sessions.

All time great!

This is my second Mind Expander twin and is my fav all time peak to parking lot board! This one’s first turns were recently in Hakuba, Japan! I rode it on a 35cms day and I’m still blown away by the float! Holds edge, poppy yet playfull, loves switch, all conditions rig. The Christenson surf camber and spooned nose and tail create unreal turn initiation and release. Please always keep this one in the lineup and don’t change it. Perfection :call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:

Best Twin

If I were to sum it up. Every line I imagined while on the lift was turned into reality when dropped in. I still have yet unlocked the boards true capability and that is just because my skill level in not there yet. I am excited to see where else the board can take me.

Great Board

I just picked up this board and am very happy with it so far. Had it out in VT for fresh groomers and a powder day this past weekend. Solid performance. I've also been out in icy conditions and was happy with how it rode. Not to mention the board looks great which is a nice bonus.

Night anf day difference from my old setup

1st day on my new Jones Mind Expander Twin 162, paired with Jones Meteorite Bindings. 5' 11", 240lbs and this is the perfect set up. Day 1 rode everything from groomers, park, double black powder tree line runs. Does not dissapoint. Holds edge really well, super smooth and responsive, floats through powder effortlessly, stable at high speeds. Cant say enough about this setup. Awesome work Jones company.

Great Board

IM 6'2" 180 and purchased a 158 and this board rocks! It floats nice in the powder and still gives a great playful feel!
