The versatile all-terrain freerider

Ideal for all-conditions freeriding and carving

Ruiki Masuda's Signature Series Stratos is a hybrid all-mountain board built for creative freeriding. Its tapered freeride shape and energetic board feel deliver float in powder, performance on piste and versatility in mixed conditions. An ash wood veneer enhances stability by damping vibrations, while a responsive nose and tail deliver the pop to slash, butter, and boost off natural features.

Features & construction

Ash Wood Veneer

Lightweight and super damp Ash wood veneer topsheet layer that eliminates edge chatter and delivers even flex and supreme torsional stiffness.

Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer

Bcomp Carbon / Flax stringers offer the perfect performance balance as the carbon provides crazy pop and the flax sucks up chatter and reduces CO₂ emissions compared to a full carbon stringer. Developed in collaboration with the Swiss engineering firm Bcomp.

Biax Fiberglass

Biaxial fiberglass laminate made with a dual-layer, dual-directional construction that delivers a forgiving yet snappy board feel with a mid-soft torsional flex and quick energy transfer.

Sintered 8000 Base

Premium sintered base material that’s ultra fast, highly wax absorbent, easy to repair and proven to be one of the most durable and long lasting base materials in the industry.

Bio Resin

A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon that reduces CO₂ emissions by 33% compared to conventional petroleum-based epoxy. Sourced from plant-based industrial by-products, its unmatched bonding properties deliver industry leading durability and performance.

Recycled ABS

Recycled ABS sidewalls with a rounded finish that are engineered to enhance durability by reducing topsheet chipping and impact damage.

Recycled edges

Bombproof steel edges made from recycled German steel, engineered for maximum strength and long-lasting durability.

Wend Natural Wax

All Jones snowboards come factory waxed with WEND natural wax so they’re ready to shred straight out of the shop.

Ultra Core

Ultralight dual density wood core made primarily out of responsibly harvested Paulownia with pockets of Poplar that offers standard setting durability, pop and response.

Ruiki Masuda needs no introduction in Japan. For the rest of the world, however, it’s long overdue. His inimitable style and influence have propelled Hakuba's backcountry scene for years. Now, his Signature Series – the first to come out of Asia – brings that legacy global.

To mark the launch, a limited run of Ruiki's Signature Series Stratos is available internationally, in stores and online.

A rider that defies categories…

Ruiki forged his style in the mountains of Hakuba and Minami-Uonuma, where legendary snowfall creates a constantly shifting landscape. He developed an approach to riding that flows between intent and spontaneity, from powerful turns down steep spines to floaty spins off natural features. His style is impossible to label, refusing to be pinned down to freeride or freestyle.

... and a board that blurs them

The Stratos mirrors that versatility. It’s why Ruiki chose it for his Signature Series. The tapered shape and directional camber/rocker profile glides in Hakuba's notoriously deep snow and rails turns on hardpack. The lively flex provides snap for popping and slashing features down the mountain. It blends freeride prowess with freestyle agility. A board that adapts to your vision, not the other way around.

Behind the design

Ruiki collaborated with Toshikazu Nozaka for his Signature Series artwork. Nozaka's background as a bunshin-shi (a traditional tattoo artist) brings together Japanese folklore, punk rock culture and surrealism.

The design unfolds like a hanging scroll, with a scene that runs from the summit of Mt. Fuji to the sea. At the center sits the frog, whose Japanese name, kaeru, doubles as the word for “to return,” making it a symbol of safe passage and good fortune in the mountains.

Designed in Japan, built for everywhere

Ruiki's Signature Series board brings a piece of Japanese snowboard philosophy to riders worldwide. Built on the Far East Stratos platform, it features an exclusive ash wood veneer and lightweight dual-density wood core for enhanced damping and smooth, consistent flex.

Trusted across Japan’s resorts and backcountry and ridden around the world, the Stratos is a cornerstone of the Jones line for creative riders who demand all-terrain versatility.

The limited release of Ruiki’s Signature Series Stratos is available online and in select retailers in sizes 153, 156, and 159.

I’m super hyped on my Signature Series. I feel the Japanese snowboard scene still needs to grow, where riders can drive the industry. If athletes can express themselves more freely and take initiative, the whole scene will become even more exciting.
