Where is your favorite place to snowboard and why?
I am bias but my favorite place to snowboard is in my backyard. Lake Tahoe is just so diverse and when the snow is good there is no better place to explore on a snowboard!!
What has snowboarding or the mountains taught you?
Snowboarding and spending time in the mountains has truly been my schooling. I have learned and continue to learn so much every time I step foot into my boots. Courage, trust, humility, presence... exploring what I am capable of and how I can be a better partner, friend, person. The mountains really are the greatest teachers if you are willing to take the time to listen.
Tell us about one incredible or influential snowboarding achievement or moment.
As of late the thing that I am most proud of is riding the Tahoe classic line Grizzly Spines in 2019. After transitioning fully out of competition my road to the backcountry has been full of learning and growing. Being able to ride a classic line like that makes me feel like my knowledge and confidence in the backcountry is building, which is super exciting.
What are you passionate about besides snowboarding?
I am very passionate about health and how it relates to food, herbs, mental state, and our bodies. I also have become very passionate about climate change. Learning and advocating for positive changes in our society to better protect our natural resources.
