Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Volume-Shifted Directional

A directional shape with volume-shifted dimensions, creating a wider, shorter outline that moves more surface area to the nose for incredible float in powder, while keeping the board nimble and easy to maneuver. Riders can significantly downsize with a volume-shifted board without sacrificing float or stability.

[Pr0file]

Float CamRock

Hybrid freeride profile for a great balance of powder and piste performance, featuring a long nose rocker and fully extended tail camber. This combination delivers incredible float in deep snow, while generating drive and grip in the tail to rail carves on piste.

[Tracti0n_tech]

High Traction Tech

High Traction Tech features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding). The middle bump is bigger than the outside bumps for better grip and control.

[Taper]

High Tapered

Our most accentuated taper, reserved for powder-focused shapes where float and maneuverability in deep snow are the priority. The wider nose plows through soft snow while the narrower tail sinks naturally. Any shape with more than 15mm of taper between the nose and tail.

[Shape_details]

Speed Hull

The Speed Hull in the tail reduces friction as snow passes through the tail of the board, improving glide and maneuverability under the back foot. Unique to the Hovercraft 2.0 snowboard and splitboard.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

High 3D Contour Base

Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

Full Speed Ahead

This is a great addition to my lineup. With splitboard, a mind expander, now this Hovercraft 2.0. The tools are there, just need the proper Winter to test them out.
First run out, this board wants to scream fast down corduroy trails. Pow was a challenge this year in North Idaho, but the 1 nice out-of-bounds Mt. Wardner, was nice, looking for more POW. Ended up wrecking the nose on this new board. Turned into at least 300.00 repair... Should have stayed on my rock board.

Hi Mark. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are happy to hear that it has been a great addition to your lineup and that you have been able to test it out on some corduroy trails. We sorry to hear the damage to the nose. We also hope that you are able to find some more pow soon. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, we are always here to help :)
Cheers,

I’ve been snowboarding since 1996

I’ve been snowboarding since 1996. And this is the best snowboard I have ever ridden!
I feel so comfortable dropping into steep terrain.
I didn’t know a feeling existed while standing at the top of technical terrain.
This board is so well designed.
Jones wants you to have FUN snowboarding!!!
That’s his goal.
Other companies are so stuck staring at their own image…it’s obvious they don’t think about their customers.

Hello Toby!

That is seriously awesome to hear! Knowing that our boards give you the confidence to ride critical terrain is exactly what we strive for. It makes our day to hear a rider with your experience say this is the best board you've ever ridden. We appreciate you taking the time to leave such a high-energy review! Keep ripping!

Great

I really enjoyed riding this board. It’s great off piste and on groomed slopes. I definitely recommend it for advanced riders. Even riding switch for short amounts of time was possible. It is worth it’s money.

Thanks for the feedback, Franziska!
Great to hear the Hovercraft 2.0 is delivering both off-piste and on groomers. Sounds like you’re getting the most out of its versatility — even sneaking in a bit of switch when needed.

...and then you just smack the lip, RWAPAAAA

I've bought my first hovercraft from Tribute in 2016 when I was living in Nelson. Its since been my all time favorite snowboard of all time. Since then, I've moved back home on my island in New-Brunwick and with that, I snowboard a bit less and focus more on foiling and surfing. Plus, I've snapped the board a few years back. It's the first time that I developed such a deep love with a snowboard. To me, that board represent everything snowboarding is about. From a fullspeed carving / surf slashing standpoint.

I've then decided to buy the new Hovercraft 2.0 because for me its such a quiver killer even in icy eastcoast condition and I cant get enough of hit.

Thanks for everything.

Best all around powder board.

Best all around powder board. Exceptional turns & control, luv this board.
For > 2" days. Not best suited for hardpack, for that I ride the Stratos.I'm on the East coast. It's my go to for all powder trips.

Hi Luis,

We're stoked the Hovercraft 2.0 is your go-to for powder trips. It sounds like you've got the perfect quiver going by pairing it with the Stratos for those less floaty days!

I 🖤 Hovercrafting

The hovercraft has been a board in my quiver for almost a decade. Didn’t think it could get any better but the 2.0 proved me wrong. It is an essential for steep and deep terrain but also shines on cruising & carving groomers. It pivots quick and is fishy in the tight trees. It rides exactly how a powder board should. Effortless float and turning. I don’t see another reason for any other pow board.

I love Hovercraft

Amazing board! can't believe I'm saying it, better than the OG model. Boards can do it all, riding groomers, carves great! on the back bowls, holds tight and stable. I even hit the medium line in the park on it. Thats what its capable of. Board is absolutely amazing on a pow day. Didn't actually believe the channels on tail would do much until i got a real deep day. Very cool design. if you're considering this board, do it ! you won't be disappointed

LOVE IT

It is a blessing in Powder (my legs aren't dying early as with my old board) and I had fun on piste. Had the board for the second Season now.

But last weekend in Switzerland we got into it heavy. 3 Days, non stop riding, no coffee-breaks, nothing. Hitting groomers and Slush in the afternoon, It was nuts. I fell in love with this thing for piste-riding too! (for powder it's awesome anyway).

Dreamcraft

Moved from the flagship to the hovercraft. This board is amazing. Quick edge to edge, knifes through trees and moguls.

Edge hold on ice could be better.

11/10 board. Playful, responsive, surfy.

Just a dream.

I drank the Kool aid

So the last Hovercraft I had was in 2013. Didn’t get along with it. Sold it. The new 2. 0 is so fun. It’s been amazing on pow days. The surprise was how fun it’s been during this long dry spell in Tahoe. The board excels where you wouldn’t expect it to. I did mount it on the forward position. I’m 5’9” and have the 156.

All mountain fun

This board is nimble, medium flex with a nice bit of support in the tail to finish out those turns strong. On fast, firm groomers, the board feels solid, not floppy and holds an edge very well for a surfy board. This is my third hovercraft and first 2. 0, I’m looking forward to more days hovercrafting around the mountain and dropping into some waves off a boot pack.

Amazing Instrument of Stoke!

I'm 6'2", 150lbs, 22 years of riding experience. For an early Christmas, my wife bought me the 156 Hovercraft 2. 0. I rode at the reference stance (22. 8") with my 2022 Jones Mercury bindings, set at +6/+18 stance angles. It was an all conditions day at Schweitzer Mountain. They had only seen a couple inches of fresh snow in a week, but it was the first day they opened the lifts on the back side. So, the frontside had bullet proof ice on the groomers while the backside had untouched powder off piste. Amazing board! While it's much shorter than the 160's I usually ride, it has a longer effective edge and all that surface area, so in the deep/steep technical terrain you can whip that shorter board around much easier. On groomers, it carves like a dream, I was able to lay some circle carves no problem. In the powder, it floats insanely well, I'd say it is impossible to sink that nose if you tried. On the hard ice, it easily kept it's edge, where my previous gear would have lost an edge for sure. That disrupted side cut gives you a lot of confidence. The base is crazy fast. That long cat track to get back to the front of the mountain had me leaving skiers and boarders in my dust as they struggled to keep speed on the rollers. Want a board for any condition? This board does it all, you won't be disappointed.

Cons: Do the indents in the tail actually make a difference? Maybe they do, and I'm not skilled enough to notice. But I like tuning/waxing my own gear. They make the wax job a pain, maybe I'll let the board shop wax this guy. Will I like the white base? Looks nice when it's new. Only time will tell.

Can't stop using it

I've been splitboarding only for 5 years and the hovercraft is my first snowboard ever. I'm so stoked on how fast, agile and fun it is, from groomers to botomless powder days. Actually, it is so good that lately i'm leaving my splitboard and skins at home and walking my self up to take the best out of the mountain on this board.

History lesson: This board shape changed the game

A long time ago, my wife wanted a ring. I agreed to it on one condition...She had to give me a Hovercraft in return. We've both been very happy ever since.

Pow carving rocket

I wear a size 10 vans boot, riding the 156
Is a wide deck. If you’re used to a wide deck, it’s pretty friendly. Floats like a dream in deep snow, and I been scraping my belly button on groomers. The board is softer/flexier than I had expected. Therefore feels like it might lack pop. Despite it feeling softer than I’d like, the side cut and camber make It very stable. Would buy again!

I’ve been using it just

I’ve been using it just for 1 month and so far like it. I pow I feel floats better, but I also like the old one more for like an all around board.
This one I would is closer to be a pow board than the 1.0
This what I felt so far.
Maybe change later.
Thanks,
Pedro.
