Amazing board for long missions in the mountains!
Super light and efficient on the way up, it rides really well in all kind of conditions.
The short size is a real advantage for splitboarding but also when riding on steep terrain!

Love this board - it has become my best friend and an extension of my being.

Not as much information as one would like out there on the internet regarding this board so I will do my best to fill in some gaps.

Personality: It's confident but knows how to chill out when it's time for a euphoria bluebird low angle day when avy is high. When the the heartbeat decides it's time to ride the lightning its a dark horse charging with red eyes and flames. It's a secure belay when you are gripped but want to push the limits. It's a mentor in exploration and dimension not limited by terrain. It's a best friend who always has your back.

Touring: Tours very confidently. Love the shorter package for kick turns and technical skin tracks. Multi radius sidecut seems to work well on both edges of the board (inside and outer). Of course, lightweight is great!

Riding: In my opinion this is where the board shines. I have ridden it in steep corn with some variable chunder to low angle powder and very please how versatile this board is. I was most impressed how a full camber charger became playful in low angle powder. Insane.

Flex: I do not like stiff boards - they are difficult to manage in tight terrain and not as friendly in day to day riding. I would not call this board stiff personally. I think it is a playful full camber that really hits a sweet spot. I would say in normal ratings the more playful side of 7/10 stiffness. 175lbs on the 158.

Sidecut: A wonderful length to do it all. Confident to point it and slam a turn or put the brakes on in the steeps but with the spoon loves to roll over on edge and keep the board feeling short and turn-y. You can really flow with this board even on firm exit trails back to the car.

Weight: The lightest board I have ever owned. Tours very well. Noticeable when making committing jump turns.

Durability: Initially, I wanted to baby this board but I have regressed to my old self touring over rocks, not shying away from certain mixed terrain, and climbing with the board on my pack in mixed alpine terrain occasionally knocking some edges. While I would not necessarily recommend this for everyone just know it can handle it when needed. I assume this would remain true for all UL models in the catalogue.

Final thoughts: if this board speaks to you - it will not let you down.

This board is the one board in the line that reminds me of the old Ultracraft. Packed into this shorty is an absolute beast of splitboard. Nimble yet powerful, jump turns like a dream, and makes you hold an edge as good as Jeremy Jones. Perfect alpine variable splitboard. As for a mountain tool no other board has felt the way this one has. Splitskis very well and tours effortlessly for the weight. Once you get over the shape it's hard to stop riding. I generally ride a 160-164 and ride this in the 158.

We're still waiting for the Aviator to come back in Splitboard :D!!! Especially when we see Victor having one ;)!

I’ve been riding this board all season and I’ve loved it, from deep pow, to variable snow, steep lines to natural jumps. Works great ! It has a long effective edge that gives you that extra comfort for hard turning on a smaller size board. I’ve been using the 158 and usually ride board between 161/163

This board really impressed me. I knew to expect light weight and touring ability, but wasn't too sure what to expect on the way down - especially in deeper snow. I have taken this board on several tours in varying conditions from ice to pow and the thing inspires confidence through it all. Super confident on edge, but with more float than expected from the cambered shape. I was hesitant due to the price tag but have absolutely no regrets!!

Considering this is a limited release board I feel I should review the features of this board more than it. But I’ll do both.
-Lightweight: makes a HUGE difference on long days braking snow for a skin track.
-Carbon Fiber/koroyd: takes the bashing from uneven hard pack very well. Also makes for a strong construction and takes a beating very well. More explanation on that later.
-Spoon tech: Super helps going from edge to edge without catch. Especially with the long edge and it being a full camber board.
-inner traction: fantastic for side hilling, not a replacement for crampons, but definitely a noticeable difference.

Did about 7 miles my first day with these and boy did it make a difference. Took me a few outings to get my setup dialed in on them, and now I’m hoping they make a version that’s not an ultralight, so the next time I go charging through trees way too fast I don’t feel bad about hitting a tree :joy: the nose did delam a bit from the impact, but was so minor I didn’t notice until I packed it into my vehicle.

Awesome board, but definitely do not get as a daily driver. Has nothing to do with the board, just the cost :sweat_smile:

After a sampling of various conditions and a couple day tours I'm hooked.

This board is born to hold an edge, It really doesn't want to blow out. Wether it be dust on crust, skinning or that long heel side traverse. You'll notice it in the some of the videos Jones has for the board how quick some of the turns initiate. It's not going to buck you off, but takes a second to get used to the accuracy and responsiveness. I'm riding a hard boot setup which certainly plays into that as well. I'm on spark hard boot plates with canted pucks and phantom toes and risers with an Atomik Backlands.

I was surprised to notice a difference with icy skinning conditions. It's not a replacement for a split crampon, but it's a huge step up from a more traditional edge. It split-skis with a noticeable amount of control as well. That said, it won't climb the mountain for you, much of this will depend on your setup and experience split-boarding.

The pre-cut nomad skins leave enough edge exposed to make for nice scribing, it was a little more exposed edge than I've been used to, but you get the feel for it pretty quick.

The nomad skins are nice, they have a descent glide, pack small, and climb well. I like the notched tail clip, curious if Jones will sell a replacement for the repair kit?

The board for my height and weight 5'11" 170 doesn't feel too stiff. I can still roll the board to get good skin contact on the up and don't have to work to hard to get the tail around on jump turns, good pop to it.

I have found the tolerance to be pretty tight getting snapped together, at least from the other boards I've ridden. I find making sure the "V" between the wings needs to be nicely lined up, other wise the plates jam up.

I've be closing the tip clips but not clamping them to allow the board to move a bit as the plates go on.

So far no problems grabbing trees etc with the tip or tail. I'm curious how the pointed shape of the tip and tail hold up over time.

It's got the potential to be a quiver of one for my kit, most of the things I mentioned are pretty hair splitting, overall, been stoked, its a serious mountain machine.
